This website
It runs no analytics and sets no cookies of its own. The one thing it loads from anyone else is Paddle’s checkout script, on the home page, so that the buy button works; what that script does is covered by Paddle’s privacy policy. No other page loads anything from a third party. The web host may keep ordinary server logs — the address a request came from, the time, and the page asked for — as every web server does. We do not use them to identify anyone.
The software
Neither the free tool nor migrate sends anything to us. There is no telemetry, no update check, and no licence server. They connect only to the databases you point them at, and the desktop app keeps saved connection details on your own machine, in your operating system’s keychain.
Buying a licence
Purchases are handled by Paddle, the merchant of record: you buy from Paddle, who sell it on our behalf. They collect what a payment needs — your name, email address, billing location and payment details — under their own privacy policy.
We never see your card or bank details. Paddle passes us the order: your email address, country, transaction number and what you paid. We use it to issue your licence, to reissue it if you lose it, to handle a refund, and to answer you when you write. We do not send marketing email and do not sell or share it with anyone.
Your licence file
Your licence contains the email address you bought with, the tier, the number of seats, the date it was issued and the version it covers. It is a file on your machine and is checked there.
Every SQL file migrate writes starts with a comment naming that email address. If you commit generated scripts to a public repository, the address goes with them. If you would rather it did not, ask for the licence to be issued to a different address — a team alias, say — when you buy, or at any time afterwards.
If you write to us, we keep the conversation so we can follow it up. That is all it is used for.
How long we keep it, and your rights
Order records are kept for as long as your licence might need reissuing, and for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted where the law allows — email [email protected]. Deleting the order record means we can no longer reissue your licence; the licence file you already have keeps working.
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
